About BCA Program

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is a 4-year, 8-semester undergraduate program of Tribhuvan University (TU) under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FOHSS). Launched in 2074 B.S., the BCA course consists of 120 credit hours comprising 71 credit hours of core computer science, 9 credit hours of mathematics and statistics, 12 credit hours of electives, 6 credit hours of languages, and 13 credit hours of real-world projects and internships.

Course Objectives

  • Produce highly skilled software developers, web engineers, and database administrators.
  • Master modern programming languages (.NET, Java, Python, C++, JavaScript).
  • Provide practical hands-on experience through project-based teamwork and industry internships.
  • Form a solid academic foundation for Master's programs (MIT, MCA, Computer Science).

Eligibility & Entrance Requirements

Students from Science, Management, or Humanities backgrounds are eligible to apply provided they meet the following criteria:

  • Completed +2 or equivalent grade 12 examination from NEB or recognized board.
  • Minimum 2.0 CGPA with a minimum D+ grade in each subject.
  • Pass the mandatory BCA Entrance Examination conducted by TU FOHSS (score at least 35%).
